Don Bowman - Funny Way To Make An Album (1966)

This is Don Bowman's third album, and it's one of my favorites. This features the hilarious "The Other Ringo","I Get The Feeling We're Through","Boll Weevil Air Lines" and "Things Are Looking Up", the latter being one of the funniest drunk songs. And Don's in touch with his feminine side too, assuming the role of sister on "Dear Sister". But I don't think I should talk too much about Don, he should be laughed at. So, let the funny man do the slurring...

OMG! Thank you so much! I have been looking for Don's music for years & just came across a digital copy of Funny Folk Flops (one of the only 2 LPs I own by him) and now I see you've posted 2 more I've never heard. You are definitely my hero! Thanks again!

BTW, if you have any more, *PLEASE* post away!

Here's Funny Folk Flops, Don's 1968 LP. Thanks again for the great uploads, and if anyone has 'WHISPERING COUNTRY', 'ALL NEW' or 'SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL PRISON' from the great Mr. Bowman, *PLEASE* up them.
Thanks all!

Thanks. And like I stated in my Don Bowman post: I will post ALL Don Bowman albums. I'll check if this copy of Whispering Country is better then I can do. Coming up next will be Recorded Almost Live, with added bonus tracks from a single he did with Skeeter Davis.

Cheers!

The liner notes to Funny Way to Make an Album were delivered by Bownman's good friend, Jethro Burns. Homer & Jethro recorded "Freda on the Freeway" and several other Bowman tunes and even attacked Don in a couple of songs ("Dear Don Bowman" and "Owed to Don Bowman"). Bowman's in poor health now, and he sadly has NEVER received his due, either as a funny songwriter or as a serious one (he co-wrote "Anita You're Dreaming").

I know about Don through Waylon's work. I had been wondering about Don's current whereabouts. I love the funny man. Too bad he's not doing well. Where did you hear that? You're his neighbor? ;-)
