Rich Mountain Tower - Playin' To The Radio (1976)

Excellent third - and final - release by Tennessee pickers Rich Mountain Tower. This should please fans of early The Ozark Mountain Daredevils and fans of Country Rock in general. Tight and fiery, great songs, splendid musicians, lovely harmonies. It's got banjo and steel guitar, yet it will have you rocking alright. Dana Paul, one of the original members of the band commented on my previous Rich Mountain Tower post and provided some worthy information. Especially considering the fact that there's hardly any info to be found on the net. Thanks again to Pete for this beaut. And it's a hot sounding transfer too. Good time music band!

I still have this one on vinyl. Loved the band. Tried to see them every time they played Bradley's in 74-75.

I feel uneducated here. I tend to be slow with technological things. I just recently got an MP3 player, I use my phone only to make telephone calls and leave messages-no texting. Back to the point-are these RMT albums available for download to MP3 players? Are they available on CD? Other than pulling my vinyl out of the closet and playing on an inferior turntable, how else can a hear these old favorites? Thnx Skydogg for revitalizing the obscure stuff.

All these files were available freely for downloading. But they were all stored at megaupload, which was recently seized by the FBI/USA/rulers of the world. I'm still working out how to best continue.

Thanks for doing this. I've been weeding my vinyl and plan on selling my copy of this. As you say, there's not much information about RMT online.

Hey, it's Red Buddy again. From 1971 to 1976 we were mostly on the road, playing bars, clubs, and roadhouse from Knoxville TN (home) to Key West and Montreal, the Carolinas, Virginia, Hot Lanta, Vermont, Massachussetts, etc. We had a pretty strong fan base most places. Also appeared as opening act for Eagles, Steve Miller, Poco, Pure Prairie League, the Band, Marshall Tucker, Doc and Merle Watson, Earl Scruggs Revue, and some I have forgotten. It was a great time to be a roving troubador, the only downside was checking my post office box when we got off the road to see if I had received a draft notice. My lottery number was good, though, so the music kept rolling along.

Red Buddy--Dana here. Just read your comments about RMT. It was a grand time to play rock and roll. Still remember it and you fondly. Thanks to all still remembering and listening to RMT. My special personal thanks to Elysium for keeping our music alive for others to enjoy.
