Blue Steel was a Texan band which released two albums, this being the second. Requested by Bigfootkit and courteously offered by Luc. It's a typical 70's sound to this release, even though it's from 1981. Guess they got stuck. It doesn't have the big, classic Southern Rock sound like The Allmans or Skynyrd. Instead, this would please those of you who also enjoyed the Traveler/Denim or Oklahoma posts. Lots of vocal harmonies and somewhat commercial sounding songs. Nothing spectacular but very pleasing all the same. They just don't make music like this anymore. A few nice originals and a rather superfluous cover of Roy Orbison's "Oh, Pretty Woman" (Van Halen they ain't). Easy going music for an easy going fun time. And I'm havin' some fun now...

Many many thanks to both Luc & Skydog for hooking me up with this, i've really been enjoying their other album, "No More Lonely (K)nights" :), a lot recently, so i'm curious to see how this one stacks up in comparison.
Again, thanks for your generosity and for taking the time to share this one, it's greatly appreciated.
Yours indebtedly,
Bigfootkit
thx skydog for this release, very good, southern rock with california sound,
merci à luc pour nous faire découvrir d'autres sr bands.
@sr fan : connais-tu l'autre LP de Blue Steel, avec un côté un peu + Skynyrdien ?
@Skydog: where did you find some info about the band? I thought they were from California and didn't know that was a Texas band.
@Luc: I read about that on the GloryDaze site: http://www.glorydazemusic.com
@Skydogg: Thanks. I've read 2 articles about Blue Steel on this site. On one, they're saying "Texas born" ; on th other, they say they were based in LA.
Thank U!!! :)))
I know this rather late in posting, but as I recall this band was Warren Zevon's backing band for a time which is why they got signed to Warners/Elektra/Aslum. It's been a long time since I had their LPs physically, but as I recall their guitarist was left-handed and both of huis names started with the letter 'Z'. They weren't what aqnyone wanted to hear back then unfortunately. i had the promo 45 of Pretty Woman, played it out as a DJ a couple of times but it was bested NOT by Van Halen for me, but by Jan Hammer's version on HIS Warner/Elektra/Asylum band LP, all of which were out at approximately the same time in the late 70s/early 80s.
The 2nd song on the LP, Good Friends or Lovers, is a lost gem! I love both of their lps...
