Heartwood made two albums in the 70's, this being the last. They were an Atlanta based outfit that played their Southern Rock with some very heavy Country Rock influences. Like The Outlaws, Heartwood were great on vocals harmonies. Stylistically there is a definite West Coast connection. Though it's closer to the first wave of Country Rock bands then later stuff. It's got steel and banjo, and some really nice songs. Winner titles: "Is It My Body Or My Breath" and "Sittin' On The Hood Of My Car". Thanks to Luc for the rip. The album was produced by Paul Hornsby. Sound advice.
Heartwood was formed in North Carolina and moved later to Athens, Georgia. See the Heartwood web site

Haha, you're very welcome. and thank you too. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCool band! Had never heard of them. Thanks for the introduction, but I'll have to look for another rip. This one is horrible - super trebly, no bass. Unfortunately there are quite a few other rips like this on this otherwise great blog.
ReplyDeleteIf you find a better rip, please, tell me about it. I will always replace poor rips with better ones. Besides that, this was sent to me as wavs. I only clean up the crackle and pops, I do not remaster. Maybe I should. On the other hand, lots of people might prefer the recordings as they are. I don't own this vinyl, so I'm just assuming this is how it sounded. Sort of.
